Belek In Turkey Area Guide

coastline and rocks

Belek is a luxury resort that was purpose-built and is surrounded by white sandy beaches and pine forests. But golf is its true claim to fame. Belek has firmly established itself on the golfing map over the last five years, with celebrities such as Tiger Woods joining the thousands of golfers who visit each year. This Belek area guide will help you see how fantastic Belek is and how popular golf property in Turkey has become.

Belek and golf
Belek has firmly developed itself as a cost-effective alternative to Portugal and Spain’s golf destinations. Belek has become the new go-to place to play golf. It has set its sights on attracting golfers to world-class courses, with 16 professional golf courses.

Sightseeing in Belek
Even if you aren’t a golf enthusiast, there is plenty to do. Ancient cities are nearby, with Aspendos Theatre, 15 kilometres east of Belek, being the best preserved Roman Theatre in the ancient world. Visit the ancient Roman Aqueducts of Aspendos, which are located behind the Aspendos Theatre. The ancient city of Perge is just 25 kilometres west of Belek. Roman Baths, marble avenues, and a Roman Stadium can all be found here.

Beaches in Belek
From sailing and windsurfing to water skiing, the long sandy beaches offer various water sports and beach activities. The Belek Beach Park offers sunbeds, bars, water sports, boat tours, and changing rooms for a small fee.

Shopping in Belek
Belek has a diverse selection of shops selling souvenirs, leather goods, jewellrey, and everyday necessities. If you want to have some fun bartering, go to Belek’s market every Saturday.

Dining out in Belek
Belek has a plethora of five-star hotels, so you’ll never be far from a fantastic meal. The National Golf Club’s restaurant has a strong reputation and serves international and Turkish cuisine. Dining is a good value for money compared to most of Europe, so visiting fine dining establishments is more accessible.

Nightlife in Belek
Since there are so many large hotels in Belek, most nightclubs, restaurants, and entertainment are concentrated within each resort. However, there are a few clubs on the waterfront, including Club 29.

Golfing in Belek
Belek has 16 professional golf courses that can compete with the Algarve’s best. Belek is a year-round golf destination since it is less costly to play here than in Spain or Portugal, and the winters are milder. At the 2013 Golf Magazine Awards, the resort was dubbed “Europe’s Best Golf Destination.” The courses have well-equipped clubhouses, knowledgeable staff, and first-rate facilities, such as club rental.

Wellness and Spa centres in Belek
The 5,000 square metre Spa and Wellness Centre at the Voyage Belek Golf & Spa Hotel offers various therapies and beauty treatments. Hydro massage for deep relaxation is one of the treatments available at the Rixos Premium Belek Royal SPA.

Useful information for Belek
Before arriving in Turkey, you will need a visa. It’s straightforward to do it online, and you can get a 90-day multi-entry visa for $20 or equivalent currency. Some foreign nationals are excluded from having to pay a charge to enter Turkey.

Some golf courses are only accessible if you stay at a sister hotel, so double-check ahead of time to prevent disappointment. Visit the £4.4 million Turkish Airways Open and play on the Montgomerie Maxx course, designed by former European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, or the pine-lined Cordelia course, designed by Sir Nick Faldo former Ryder Cup captain.

How do you reach Belek in Turkey?
Antalya International Airport is about 33 kilometres from Belek, and several airlines fly there directly from the UK and other parts of the world.
