Belek is really shaping up to become one of the biggest stories and success stories in the history of Turkish property, and in fact is already taking its place as such. The UK national paper The Daily Mail ran a story saying that Belek had the potential to become the next Algarve. Belek has been built as a golf resort town and the whole experience is tailored around the sport, and what people who play the sport are looking for in a coastal holiday destination. Some of the best golf courses are in Belek, and further courses are planned for the resort. More importantly the courses are on a par with those in Europe’s more established destinations says top amateur golfers. Belek’s courses are on a par with the major courses on the Algarve, but far cheaper to play on and set alongside well-maintained beaches. High praise indeed and they should know. As much as Belek is world renowned for its championship golf courses there is much more to Belek than golf alone. It is an ideal location for all it has its own unique charm which distinguishes itself from other regions in Turkey. For the sporty it’s not only golf which tourists can partake in there are tennis courts, some are floodlit and horse riding is a firm favourite either along the beach or along mountain trails through pine forests. Why not try your hand at sailing or windsurfing, perhaps even water skiing? There are plenty of other water sports and even leisurely boat trips, football, gyms and even a spa to soothe your aching muscles. Fancy a swim with the dolphins? Or spend the day at the local water parks.
There has been rapid growth in this area within the last 15 years and golf tourists to Belek are now similar in numbers to the golfers who visit the Algarve in Portugal. Golfing holidays bring in big money and those who have invested in the Belek area have seen great returns on their investment by way of renting their properties out especially to those on a golfing holiday. Lucrative rental returns are on offer in Belek because this area appeals to golfers and their families with a wide variety of attractions available. It goes without saying that people do like to stay in hotels however we are seeing more and more tourists opting to rent a private apartment or villa for the duration of their holiday for various reasons. One of the problems with staying in a hotel is space, there isn’t much of it and it can be cramped, tempers can flare and irritability can set in, who wants that on their holiday? Freedom of movement is what a holiday is all about, not clock watching, getting up when one wants to and doing everything at a slower pace, visiting a variety of restaurants and sampling the local dishes. This can be difficult if you are staying in a hotel, there is a certain regime to follow. Privacy is important to most of us and you are not going to get that in a hotel. Imagine renting a private villa for example and having a pool all to yourself, absolute bliss.
There are some very reasonable golfing packages which include discounted green fees and many of the shops, bars and restaurants around the resort offer discounts too which makes buying in Belek very attractive. Not only are there some fabulous apartments, townhouses and villas close by to the golf courses, they are also close to the wonderful palm fringed beaches and they stretch around 10 km along this coastline, so if you are a family of beach lovers and die-hard golfers everyone is happy. Apartments, villas and house are available whether it is a one, two or three bedroom apartment, maybe a 4 or 5 bedroom duplex, or your own villa or house. Where do you want to invest? If you need a mortgage you can obtain the best rates possible. If you’re lucky enough to be a cash buyer, why not make an offer on the property of your choice? Are you thinking of a key ready property, a resale or possibly something off plan? How about building your own? There are some fabulous plots for sale and building your own dream home may be the option for you, do you want a swimming pool or a landscaped garden? How about a delightful terrace area with a built in barbeque for example? Sunbathing areas to relax and take in the breathtaking views are all are possible if that’s your choice, a villa or house gives you the privacy you yearn for.
