Best value properties in Turkey on the Mediterranean

written by Laurence July 19, 2018

We all day dream about taking a long over due holiday on the Turkish Mediterranean, where we have cloudless blue skies, hot summer days, soft sandy beaches and an inviting clear blue sea – its heaven and we all need that break at least once a year. But if I said to you, you can take several holidays just like this every year and possibly retire there someday would you be interested? I know you would because whenever I do say that – everyone’s interest is spiked!

Firstly this coastline is a mere 4 hours flight away from the UK so you don’t have to worry about flying long haul which is a massive bonus. Antalya has an International Airport and flights are frequent throughout the whole season. The climate is of course typically Mediterranean with long hot and humid summers, if you love nothing more than to lie on a sun drenched beach the Turkish Med is the place for you.

Antalya is a cosmopolitan city which is nestled between the Taurus Mountains and the Med. Often called the Turkish Riviera it attracts millions of visitors every year. It boasts the title of being Turkey’s largest international sea resort with an impressive coastline which is 657 km (408 miles) of sun kissed beaches, designer shopping, ports and historic ancient cities. It also ranks in the world top most visited cities by tourists. Antalya International Airport is less than 30 minutes from the centre of Antalya.

Alanya is located 2 hours east along the coast from Antalya and this beautiful upmarket resort is loved by many. The Marina is filled with expensive yachts and it is where everyone heads to for an evening out. Again its backdrop is the Taurus Mountains with its charming old quarter, 13th Century Castle and Red Tower being its local attractions. Alanya’s sweeping beaches lead to the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. You can fly in to Antalya International Airport which is around 90 minutes away or Gazipasa Airport just 48 minutes away from the centre of Alanya.

Belek is without doubt the keen golfer’s version of paradise with its countless championship courses this is the hub for every golfer and his/her family. Although famous for golf the family are not left out, with a long beautiful promenade and beachfront where you can enjoy a wide range of water sports or relax at the beach clubs. Belek has something for everyone and the whole family are catered for in this lovely resort. Antalya International Airport is a mere 32 minutes from the centre of Belek.

Property prices in Antalya offer great value for money you can snap up a 2 bedroom apartment on a complex with a wide range of facilities for just £41,392. Brand new contemporary apartments with 3 bedrooms start at £51.545 there is no communal pool however you don’t need one as these apartments are a mere 20 minute walk to the Blue Flag awarded beaches that Antalya is so famous for. A 4 bedroom detached villa is superb value at £139,000 on small elite complex with communal pools and amazing views of the surrounding local area.

Property prices in Alanya serve up the same wonderful value as Antalya. A 2 bedroom apartment starts from £43,950 just 5 minutes walk from Alanya’s most famous beach Kleopatra Beach, shops, bars and restaurants. If you want more space a 3 bedroom apartment with panoramic views start from just £71,165 on a complex with communal pool, landscaped gardens and great facilities. Possibly your family is larger therefore you want a villa and your in for a treat a large 4 bedroom villa with sea views can be yours for the amazing price of £144,950 and wait for it – it’s a resale and fully furnished!

Property in Belek is mainly villas that are for sale as they cater for the golf market and as we all know golfers tend to play in groups therefore, if you invest in a villa and want to rent it out you can earn really good rental returns. Villa prices start from £99,950 for a 3 bedroom resale villa including all the furniture and I’m certain that surprises you, if you compared Belek to the Algarve in Portugal the villa prices aimed at the golfing market are pricey there to say the least. You can pick up a 4 bedroom villa for £200,150 which also offers astounding value for money. If you have never visited the Mediterranean region of Turkey why not visit this summer?
