There are many reasons why buying property in Turkey is a good idea, foreign investment in Turkish properties has been popular since Turkey first allowed foreigners to invest in their country in 2003. There are three types of foreign buyers who invest in Turkey:
The investors – they began snapping up Turkish property because they could see what a lucrative market Turkey would become, they entered the business market and bought property and land and developed new buildings and complexes and renovated older properties. They then rented out as holiday accommodation and the rental yields from this business enabled to invest further.
The holiday home owner – these investors generally went to Turkey just for a holiday and loved it, they became enamoured with the culture and wanted to return time and time again. The 300 days of sunshine was another plus factor as well as the affordability of property which became a home away from home.
Expats – normally these investors had been to Turkey for holidays and again loved the lifestyle; they wanted warm weather, affordable properties and wanted to be in a country where the cost of living was cost-effective. As a bonus, they find they can have good health care.
Buying a property in Turkey has its advantages as it’s much cheaper to buy there than in other European countries or for that matter the Gulf States, your money stretches a lot further and the cost of living is extremely affordable. Luxury properties can be bought with amazing sea views along the coasts, mountain and forest views in the countryside or fabulous skylines that adorn the favourite cities. The pace of life is slower, the winters are mild and the sun shines almost daily, the food is healthier adopting the Mediterranean diet and a feeling of well being soon becomes a way of life.
Value for money and a luxury lifestyle is important to many who invest in Turkey. You can buy a 4 bedroom private villa with a pool for less than you can buy a flat in the UK offering stunning panoramic views. Who wouldn’t want to be able to buy that and make the lifestyle choice that goes with it? The utility bills and council taxes are a mere fraction of what you expect to pay in the UK.
Whatever your budget is, affordable properties are for sale from beautiful apartments to luxury villas or even buy your own land and have a custom villa built to your own design. Another bonus is all Turkish property is Freehold so whatever property you buy you also own the land.
Once you have bought your Turkish property you will be able to visit whenever you choose to. International flights to the main cities in Turkey are plentiful with major airline companies flying into Turkey on a regular basis. Transfers are easy from the airport to your desired destination and many are within an hour by way of a shuttle bus, private car hire or taxi.
Getting around Turkey is simple by way of the local bus service called a Dolmus it is a reliable and very cheap way of getting around your own resort or village. There are bus stops but you can easily hail a bus to stop anywhere and pick you up. If you wanted to travel further afield to another city again use the bus service as it’s the most affordable method and you can see a lot more of this wonderful country.
That’s enough reasons as to why it’s not only a good idea to buy property in Turkey it’s a fantastic idea!
