The ultimate guide to villas for sale in Turkey

written by Laurence September 17, 2018

Owning a holiday home is something most of us dream about, that place we can escape to when we are tired or need some time out or we need not just a holiday, but a holiday home to go to. I think some people are put off buying because they are firstly concerned they couldn’t afford one and secondly they are worried they might become bored of visiting the same place every year. However the reality is you can afford a beautiful property in Turkey and I’m not just talking about a 1 bedroom apartment (as fabulous as they are). Do you need to get bored? Why do you think you won’t visit anywhere else in the world?

Buying a villa in Turkey
There are villas and then there are luxury villas! Yes, there is a big difference in price; some may want a villa as a holiday home, some for an investment and others for a permanent residence possibly after retirement. There are new villas or resales and some may be off plan which means you can often choose your own decor and layout. Possibly you may want to buy a plot of land and build your own villa.

Semi detached villas – on a complex
A lovely 2 bedroom semi detached villa can be yours on a delightful complex with staggering views, a large communal pool with landscaped gardens from as little as £65,000 is that expensive to you? To me, that offers astounding value for money and that little beauty is located very nicely close to Kemer along the Mediterranean Coast of Turkey and it’s only a 15 minute drive to the sea. Antalya International Airport is a 60 minute or less drive away.

Detached villas – resale – on a complex
Again you can buy a 3 bedroom detached villa on a well kept complex however this time you have your own private pool and private garden with wonderful sea views of the Aegean Sea in Akbuk. You are a 10 minute stroll to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants and for this privilege it can be yours from £70,000 oh and I forgot to mention it’s fully furnished because it’s a resale property. Bodrum International Airport is just a 50 minute drive away over the delightful mountain road.

Detached villas – in their own grounds
This unique 3 bedroom villa sits in its own plot with a private swimming pool and mature gardens planted with lots of fruit trees and it is close to Olu Deniz in beautiful Fethiye on the Mediterranean Coast. Olu Deniz is famous for being one of the top ten beaches in the world such is its beautiful picturesque views. This can be your very own villa from £157,000 and Dalaman International Airport is a mere 60 minute drive away.

Detached villa – luxury
No we are talking; these villas are stunningly beautiful from the panoramic views to the build, design and the interior. There are obviously luxury villas more affordable than this but this is the ultimate in luxury and this is exclusive with a capital E. If you have a smidge over £4 million you could be the proud owner of this detached 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms villa. Set in its own extensive landscaped grounds with a private infinity pool and views to die for of the Aegean in lovely Yalikavak close to Bodrum. This is the stuff dreams are made of and it’s just a 30 minute stroll to the beach and only a 40 minute drive to Bodrum International Airport.

Would you get bored?
If you are concerned buying a villa in Turkey will not allow you to visit any other country please think again. If you do fancy a change of scenery rent your villa out, currently villas in the summer season are averaging from around £1000 per week and with this you can easily afford a holiday else where with your family and its all paid for. This is where it’s a great investment and one you should consider. Obviously the luxury villas command a much higher rent and to be honest if that luxury villa was mine in Yalikavak you wouldn’t be able to pries me away from it. Investing in a villa means you always have a holiday home to visit and when the time is right either retire full time to Turkey or visit for months on end. What this type of investment gives you are options and these options will enhance your lifestyle for the better.
